Experience the Quality of Montevallo Online!

Online program

The Instructional Leadership program is based on the concept of the teacher/administrator as a developing professional. The State Board of Education has approved the program. Coursework is offered to provide students with a well-rounded background in all aspects of educational administration. Priorities are established to provide students with information in all aspects of school operation including knowledge of national and Alabama school law, finance and regulations; knowledge of personnel management and staff development; knowledge of curriculum and instructional supervision; and the ability to integrate research and current trends into practice. This is a fully online program with limited required synchronous class sessions each month.

The ONLINE Master’s Program in Instructional Leadership is for those who have earned a Class B professional educator’s certification and wish to obtain the certification required to hold administrative positions in P-12 educational settings. UM’s Master’s in Instructional Leadership provides the candidate opportunities to learn about research and current trends in school operation, state/national school law, finance and regulation, personnel management, staff development and curriculum/instructional supervision. A Master’s in Instructional Leadership leads to advanced (Class A) professional educator certification (grades P-12).
