From Decatur, Alabama, now live in Pelham, Alabama.

If you hold any degrees, what are they in and from what schools?

BS Behavioral Sciences – Athens State University

M.Ed. Counseling – UM

How long have you worked here? 

Almost 16 years.

Did you hold any previous positions here? If so, what are they?

Graduate intern, Counselor and Senior Counselor.

What brought you to Montevallo?

I came for grad school and I never left.

What’s the best thing about working for Montevallo?

Getting to work directly with students. Having fantastic/amazing co-workers.

Do you have any interesting stories about one of your favorite experiences here?

One of my favorite things that I look forward to every year is seeing students we work with graduate and feel like they are going to be ok.

What’s your proudest accomplishment since being at UM?

Seeing counseling services grow and adapt to better serve students. Developing the Food Pantry and Emergency Assistance Program to address basic needs.

Why do you belong at Montevallo?

Montevallo is my professional home. It’s where I have learned, grown, and became the professional I am today.
