UM Tuition Rates Frozen for Seventh Year in a Row

February 20, 2024

As a leader in quality-for-cost among higher education institutions in the state of Alabama, the University of Montevallo will once again freeze tuition at the same rate it has been for the past seven years following a vote by the UM Board of Trustees on Feb. 16.

When combining the costs of tuition and institutional fees, along with scholarship funding and needs-based aid, UM remains committed to offering an affordable and accessible college education.

“The University family is proud to keep access to a four-year degree as affordable as we possibly can,” said Dr. John W. Stewart III, UM president. “We continue to prioritize reducing costs for high school graduates, community college transfers, adult learners and their families. In addition to freezing tuition, we’ve continued to increase funding for institutional scholarships each year to help our students continue to pursue meaningful lives and careers.”

The University is also waiving the ACT/SAT test score requirement for admission and offering scholarships to students based on their high school GPA through fall 2024.

As a result, students who do not submit ACT or SAT test scores when applying for any term in 2024-2025 will not be disadvantaged in the application or scholarship review process. The University will award scholarships to students without test scores who have at least a 3.0 cumulative high school GPA.

Come see why You Belong at Montevallo by attending Transfer Day on Friday, March 8 from 1:30 to 4 p.m. and Preview Day on Saturday, March 16 from 8:30 to 12:30.
